The Big House

Not much to say. Today is a good day but a busy one. The place we are living now is soooooooooo small. I call it the Shrimp Shack. So my point was it is so small when we moved in we had to store my dining room hutch in my mom's garage. We were finally able to get it out today! We took it over to the new house.
lol I call the new house "The Big House". lol

Ok so am I the only crazy one who names houses?

The Ultimate Day By Day Planner

The Ultimate Day By Day Planner

The other day we were working on the deck at the new house. Since I have been married to Q for almost 15 years now, I know him. I know his trends. I watched him, and picked up a pattern he was going by to build the deck, putting in spacer nails, and screwing down the deck boards. After a little while it got to where I was handing him things before he even asked for them. He looked at me and said “Wow you are good you know what I need even before I ask for it. "

Of course that reminded me of our Gracious God. He knows what we have need of even before we ask for it. Have you ever stopped to think about it when those little miracles happen? For you the check appeared in the mail just in time, for God, He prompted the person to send the check a week ago, to get it to you on time. God is so awesome how he plans in advance.

Matthew 6:8 b Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Christmas Time's A Coming!

I collect nativities. I love to show my children the true meaning of Christmas. I have about 20. Every year at Christmas time, I put away all of my nick-knacks, and replace them with nativities. I have long wanted one that was a true toy, so my kids could play with it instead of just looking at them. I finally have it! Here is a picture of it I took earlier today.
I took it out of it's package and set it up, took a picture, then packed it in a box to move... lol
There was a method to my madness, I also bought one to sell on ebay, so I wanted to take a picture of one for the auction.

All in the family.

Sam is really fitting in. She is even getting family heirlooms... lol This pink rain coat was my grandmothers. Mom gave it to me, but I just never wore it, and well it is for shall we say someone more vertically challenged. It fits Sam perfect... lol

When we move, in her room, her bed will be one we inherited from Mama Dunk. and she will have a cabinet we inherited from Granny Jones...

It's all in the family.

Failure Is NOT an Option.

David Livingstone is quoted as saying... "I determined never to stop until I had come to the end and achieved my purpose." Sometimes we have to be determined to fight. No matter what, like I told a friend today, look at satan and say "I refuse to kill myself, so if you want me, you have to come in and get me... and If it kills me, hey I'll go to heaven."

Here is a good article.. I actually found it while searching for an old poster my daddy gave me a copy of when I was younger. He was "in"couraging (word I created) me not to give up. So I encourage you... Don't EVER give up!

Working on the New Deck

Everyone was working so hard on the new deck... except Juliannah, She was cuddling up to a mud ball? Yeah. She made a Mudd Snowman. Said it was me... interesting.

lol That's ok, this is how I work on a deck... lol

Deuteronomy 6:9 says "Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."

speaking of God's promises... So while Q was building the deck, I wrote some scriptures on the support boards.

GO GOD!!!

God is soooo Awesome. He never ceases to amaze me. My friend Deanna has finally seen the light in her particular trial, a true "dark night of the soul." (what is that a quote from, it sounds familiar. Anybody know?) She says in her post today that God has made Isaiah 45:3 a reality in her life:
"I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name."

I wanted to post this so you too can celebrate with her, and to show YOU... and YOU know who YOU are... that there is hope. YOU too will make it.

Love ya guys!

LETS HAVE A PARTY!!!

Can Horror Have a Silver Lining?

How Can Horror Have a
Silver Lining?
At college, my second semester back, after thirteen years mind you, I had to take an English Literature class. I had to read some things I didn’t care for, but nothing much. In that first class, there was one young lady that I just really clicked with (in spite of the fact that I was practically old enough to be her mother), and she said, “Next semester, sign up for this English Lit II class with me, PLEASEEEEEEEE!”
So without question, I did. I didn’t figure it was a big deal, we got along together very well; I had to take a Lit II class, and they were probably all the same. Or so I thought…
Boy, did I STEP IN IT! There was something nasty smelling on the bottom of my shoe! Ok, not literally, but the class was a real challenge. It was a Gothic Lit class; the entire class was on horror stories, and I mean horror! It consisted of everything from Edgar Allen Poe to Stephen King.
As I was reading a story by King, I had a silver pen, and every now and then, I would scribble in the book. Curious as to what I was doing, my husband saw me and asked, “What are you doing?”
So I told him, “I have to read it but I don’t have to put up with the cussing, so I am scribbling out the cuss words.”
I had merely chosen the silver pen because it was made to write on black paper, and it covered the black.
He just laughed as he said, “Talk about a silver crayon…”
Because you see, I had told him over and over, “With God, every cloud has a silver lining; you might have to use your silver crayon to find it, but it is there.”
With those words, God stopped me and I realized, I didn’t intend to take this class, but He is using me in it. Here are some silver linings:
o I gave a copy of a Frank Peretti novel, The Oath, to my professor because it is “a wonderful work from a Christian perspective that teeters on the edge between the ‘marvelous’ and the ‘uncanny’.” (The “marvelous” is a term for supernatural, and the “uncanny” is a term for ordinary events that happen in an odd manner.)
o I had to participate in a bulletin board posting website about my worst fear, so I posted that my worst fear was, “Someone I know dying and going to hell, and me doing nothing to stop it.” I included several scriptures to show the salvation message, and a salvation prayer.
o I also became close friends with several other Christians in the class who felt emboldened by my bravado to speak out about God, and how the need for God, fits into an obsession with horror. So,

All things have a silver lining for
those that love the Lord!

Egypt Day!

We had an Egypt day at Co-op. Since Tym and Ann didn't have school today, they went with us. It was fun. Here is Nana clowning around. Also it was a treat for Juliannah, she got to hang around with Julinanna...

Julianna is the daughter of Gail over at the Westie Crew.

Well would ya look at that? I have 5 followers. My only prayer is that I bless one. Is there something on this blog that has blessed you?

I feel so appreciated!

When we got to Church today, Coressa had left a gift for each of us, (Quintin and I) for Pastor's Appreciation Month. Mine was a gift bag with all kinds of goodies, lotion, a candle... and these... I love 'em. I feel sooooo appreciated... What did you do for your pastor? Be sure to tell them that you appreciate all that they do.
