I got the First Laugh!

It was a long day yesterday. Last week, Nana ripped a gouge in her finger. I call it a gouge, because it was a v shape. They couldn’t even stitch it; there wasn’t enough of the skin left. As if that wasn’t enough, Tymothie decided to get in on the act, and stepped on some glass. No you are right; he didn’t do it on purpose. It was accidental. Nana’s fault actually, she was chasing him thru the yard with the water hose. Anyway, so yesterday I had to take Nana and Tym to the doctor for a checkup on their various wounds. When we left, I had to go to the pharmacy and get prescriptions filled, which of course they were out of what I needed. Both kids were tired, and in pain from all the poking at the check up, and well you get the idea, I was none too chipper.

As we left the store and started toward our car, I handed the key to Nana and asked her to open the door. Tymothie was riding in the cart, tired from his crutches, and I wanted the door open when I reached there, so she went a little ahead of us, in the direction we thought we had parked. When she reached the car and tried the key, it wouldn’t work. It was the strangest thing. I was sure that this was where I parked, and it looked like my car. I told her to try again. As she did, a guy walked up, and said “My key will work better.” Then he pulled out his key, opened the door, got in, started the car and started to pull off. Meanwhile, Tym, Nana and I stood there with our mouths open. It had been such a long day, at first I thought, He is stealing my car. Then we turned around and saw our car on the row behind us. We had to laugh. How silly of us. Right about then I decided If you laugh at yourself first, others are merely laughing with you.

Every day is a terrible day for a miserable person, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast
