Life

Guess what ! I am so excited! All of my regular readers know that since September we have been attending Christian Life Fellowship in Calera. This is the longest amount of time in at least 5-10 years that I have gone without being on the worship team. That is my calling, that is my passion, I love it. Today I was asked back! Yay. I love sooooooo blending my voice with others, worshiping God. I just love it. This worship team is soooooo good, some times we even have that Wilson Phillips sound... Sigh. I LOVED the sound of Wilson Phillips, but never listened to them because I didn't like the words most of the time. I was so thrilled to find out that Chynna Phillips got saved and did a christian album. Here is one of her singles for her new group Chynna and Vaughan, called One Reason

I'm not a puppy photographer...

but if I were, she would make me rich! Granite took a moment to sneak in and pose for me.

He is just toooo pretty to be a boy... lol

This is my pill box. I am getting old. Normally I am only on three, a antiacid, Strattera, and a Blood Pressure pill, but right now since I am recovering from Mycoplasma, I am on an antibiotic. I just thought it was funny, this is a white, or clear box, all my pills are blue!!! Q told the kids that I told the doctor that I would only take blue pills!

I was gonna show you what I had for Supper...

THE love of my life and my very reason to breathe next to God.
Ha... I was playing with timed release of the shutter, and trying to make a heart.

Sam didn't want her picture taken, and Nana was trying to hold her still.

Sorry this is all that was left of my food by the time I went to take a picture... It was good.

I AM A DISCIPLE OF JESUS

I AM A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST.

I WON'T LOOK BACK, SLOW DOWN, BACK AWAY, OR BE STILL.

MY PAST IS REDEEMED; MY PRESENT MAKES SENSE; MY FUTURE IS SECURE.

I'M FINISHED WITH LOW LIVING, SMALL PLANNING, COLORLESS DREAMS, TAME VISIONS, MUNDANE TALKING, AND CHINCHY GIVING.

I NO LONGER NEED PROSPERITY, POSITIONS, PROMOTIONS, PLAUDITS, OR POPULARITY.

I DON'T HAVE TO BE RIGHT, FIRST, TOPS, RECOGNIZED, REGARDED, REWARDED, OR PRAISED.

I NOW LIVE BY PRESENCE, LEAD BY FAITH, WALK BY PATIENCE, LIFT BY PRAYER, AND LABOR BY POWER.

MY FACE IS SET; MY GAIT IS FAST; MY GOAL IS HEAVEN; MY ROAD IS NARROW.

MY WAY IS ROUGH; MY COMPANIONS FEW; MY GUIDE RELIABLE; MY MISSION CLEAR.

I CANNOT BE BOUGHT, COMPROMISED, DETOURED, LURED, DELUDED, OR DELAYED.

I WILL NOT FLINCH IN THE FACE OF SACRIFICE, HESITATE IN THE FACE OF THE ADVERSARY, NEGOTIATE AT THE TABLE OF THE ENEMY, PONDER AT THE POOL OF POPULARITY, OR MEANDER IN THE MAZE OF MEDIOCRITY.

I WILL GO UNTIL HE COMES, GIVE UNTIL I'M EMPTY; SPEAK UNTIL ALL KNOW, AND WORK UNTIL HE STOPS ME.

I WON'T GIVE UP, SHUT UP, OR LET UP UNTIL I'VE STAYED UP, STOOD UP, PRAYED UP, AND PAID UP FOR THE CAUSE OF CHRIST.

I AM A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST.

Crock Pot Lasagna (creativity when the oven dies)

If you are reading this on face book click on "view origonal post" below, to see the full recipe and pictures.

Crockpot Lasagna
Ingredients
2 ½ lbs ground beef
Goya Adobo

Dehydrated onion chips
2 large tubs Large curd cottage cheese (Wal-Mart brand is good)
1 four cup bag Mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese (or as Juliannah calls it “stinky feet cheese”)
1 egg
2 jars Prego garlic parmesan spaghetti sauce
Lasagna noodles
First step prepare ground beef. I don’t fry mine, I boil mine. Put about 2-3 inches of water in a large boiler. Put in Ground beef, coat liberally with Adobo, and cover with onion chips. This is key, as part of the wonderful taste is the seasoned meat. Set heat to medium, and let it begin to boil. Take two forks and separate the meat into small pieces as it browns. Cook until all meat is brown. Drain meat, and rinse well with water. In a large bowl combine Prego sauce jars with meat, and stir together.
In another large bowl combine both tubs of cottage cheese, bag of mozzarella, and egg. Cover the top of this mixture liberally with Parmesan cheese. Sorry I don’t measure this. Then mix all of these cheeses together.
Now you are ready to put it in the crock pot. Get out your crock pot and cover the bottom with your sauce meat mixture. Put on top a layer of noodles (I do not pre cook my noodles, so you have to splinter the noodles into slivers to make a covering of noodles, but no one can tell after it is cooked). Then put on a layer (about a ½ inch thick) of cheese mixture, then a layer of noodles. Continue this until you fill up the crock pot. You want your top layer to be cheese.
Put your crock pot on low; let it cook for about 4 hrs, and then place it on high for a little over an hour, until you see sauce bubbling up through the cheese. Then unplug it, take it out of the pot, place it on a heat proof surface, and allow to “cool” and “jell” for an hour. Then cut and serve. Since is soooooo deep you only want to serve in 1 inch squares for kids, maybe 2 inches for adults, and Justin and Que want about a 4 inch square! ;)

This WAS my lap top...

If you are looking at this on facebook, the pictures may not load, so follow this link to get to my blog site, www.beyondmicrobursts.blogspot.com

No this is not a picture of a kid in trouble... Yes that WAS my laptop, but about 18 mos ago I bought a new one, because the chassie on that one broke.

However, Nana continued to use it, she just left it open all the time. Then, the space bar fell off... then the u popped off... before it was over several letters were gone. How did she use it? she found a onscreen keyboard that she could use to input data... lol Finally she brought it to me about a week ago and said, "It's dead... here ya go." So today, she and her brother wanted to take it apart, so we let them.

This is my favorite picture, I love how you can see her smiling face in the old monitor glass...

So...

Got a question for ya...

This isn't rhetorical I want input.

I have heard it said that "What you listen to you endorse." Speaking of gossip and such. Sooo then is there a difference between that, and simply not saying anything when your colleagues are telling dirty jokes, or talking about drinking or stuff that you don't do.
Is there, is there a difference?

Sorry guys!

Little update here, school started at the University of Montevallo Monday, and since then I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to post! I am a Psychology Major, and I am taking two classes on Monday and Tuesday nights. I do enjoy it, but now I am in upper level classes (I am a senior!) and in each of my classes a paper is required to be turned in weekely. Shew! I am gonna be busy!

Tristadecaphobia...

They say the number 13 brings bad luck because there were 13 men present at “The Last Supper." The reason the Friday the 13th is brought in is because Jesus was crucified on a Friday. So, just for something to do, and to poke fun at 13 (which is my favorite number btw), I chose my 13th file and the 13th picture... A wonderful memory, my daddy grilling some steaks this year for Memorial day... That was a memorable day... pun intended... lol It is also the file that that umbrella pic came out of btw... I might just start a 13th day post, and post some of my favorite things on the 13th of each month... Cool.

Here's What I Am.

A beach Umbrella!
It's a whole lot easier when you have the whole picture!

Does God Cheat.

According to Webster, cheating is to trick or outwit. Also as in baseball, to position oneself defensively near a particular area in anticipation of a play in that area. Based on that I'd have to say God cheats!
Let me explain. I have an iPhone I love it! There are so many apps, it is so useful. I have an app for everything from finding the best price to bible reading. There is even an app for sign language. You just type in the words and it shows you how to sign it.
During this state of limbo we are living in, since I am not on the worship team, I have been googling all the worship lyrics. I then copy and paste them onto a note, and then paste a section into my sign language app, so I can sign the song.
Today as I was attempting to grab some more lyrics, God tricked me. I had been praying on and off all morning about our limbo. We were the pastors of an awesome church, but due to finances we had to close the church. Now, thru a series of unimportant events we are currently unable to apply for another. This had me pretty bummed. All of this was on my mind as I attempted to grab some lyrics, copy and paste them on a note. When I opened the blank note, and hit paste, this is what I saw;

Isaiah 49:16
I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.
Is that not cheating? I know God cares about me, but it is so comforting to think of Him writing my name on the palm of His hand. Just like I know you have, you are on the run and short of paper, so you grab a pen and write yourself a note on your hand. How awesome to think that God not out of need, necessity, or shortage of supplies but out of love has engraved my name on the palm of his hand. How awesome!
I looked up that verse three weeks ago and pasted it into a note thinking it would be great for a Microburst one day. Little did I know God had the same idea, but He cheated, He prepared in advance. He was ready for today and now so am I.

Auten Family Christmas Tradition

When Q and I were dating, we saw an ornament at Cracker Barrel that was a blown glass pickle... We were like who would want a pickle on their Christmas Tree... Then we found out the story of the pickle;
According to German tradition, the pickle brings good luck. After all the other ornaments were hung on the tree, the pickle ornament was hidden somewhere within the branches. On Christmas morning the first child to find the gherkin was rewarded with an additional small present left by St. Nicholas. The pickle tradition encourages youngsters to enjoy the many ornaments on the tree before checking to see what St. Nick has brought them.
We don't do St Nick, but we adapted the Pickle Ornament to become the Candy Ornament! Every year we hide the candy ornament, and the first child to find it gets a special bag of candy.

They get rather intense in their searching. They search,

And search... until finally,

The shout of VICTORY!

I think this is the fourth year in a row Tym has won it...

He got Skittles and Air Heads... He was happy! lol

Family Fun

Let me just say my children are special... Yeah, my daughter, Nana, and her twin cousin Rebekah were jumping on pogo sticks shaking hands... Nice. lol

We call them twin cousins because they were born 10 days apart.

Then we each had boys born 5 days apart... as if that weren't enough, then Shann got twin boys in foster care... lol
Since I can't post recognisable pictures of the twins, this is as close as I get. It is really cool, Shann has these figurines, and they really closely resemble her family right now. She has two older girls, a slightly younger boy, and then the twins.
Some children are birthed in the womb, others are birthed in the heart.
We were playing a card trick, a special way of identifying the card, and they had to figure out the trick... We had so much fun!

Before they could guess I had to whack them with the magic spatula to endow them with the knowledge of which card had been chosen while they were out of the room. At the end of the night, all of us but Uncle Jimmy had figured it out... He gave up. We'll get him next time.
Me whacking mama... Musta worked, she got it!
