Is God the Origonator of Dramatic Effect?

My church closed last week.Yeah pretty sad. Finances got to us, well to the church. No, it wasn't about paying the pastor, the pastor hasn't been paid in months. We simply couldn't keep up with the mortgage payment. We signed a contract on it about 3 weeks ago, and were gonna have our last service today. Instead, that Sunday the people voted to let that be the last service. Sad stuff... So today should have been the end... Hence the dramatic effect by God... This is a screen capture of our radar right now. You can't see through all the rain, but that is most of central Alabama.

The cool thing is our first Sunday away from our church, we went to Christian Life Fellowship in Calera, and in praise and worship we sang this...

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus.
Just to take Him at his word.
Just to rest upon his promise,
Just to know thus sayeth the Lord.

Jesus Jesus how I trust Him,
How I've proved Him ore and ore.
Jesus Jesus precious Jesus,
Oh for grace to trust Him more.

Indeed... Oh for grace to love and trust Him more.

Christmas Traditions

Here is a picture of one of my nativities at our church in the foyer.

I love Christmas time! I collect Nativities. Every year at Christmas time I put away all of my nick knacks and replace them all with nativities. I have about 20 of them. Every year, the children each want to set up a nativity. It just blesses my heart. I love knowing I am teaching her the true meaning of Christmas.

Here is a picture of Anny setting up a nativity in our "Poppy Cock"

What kind of traditions do you have that you have passed down to your children? Specifically things to do with your religion. If you read this, please take the time to comment, I need it for a research paper I am doing in Biology on why parents feel a need to teach their children about their faith.
Thanks Bloggies I know you will help me!

Ladies Retreat

We had an awesome time at the ladies retreat. The speaker was Sister Martha Tennison (click on that link to see a small video of her speaking... but it does not do her justice... she is much more awesome than that) The church her husband pastored survived a tragedy with their church bus in 1988 when it was hit head on by a drunk driver. Here is Sister Tennison's Testimony.

It was a blessing! Speaking of blessings... Sister Barbara Smith went with me... She is such a blessing to have in my church!

Who hooo the angels are rejoicing!

Remember this old song "That's when the angels rejoice!"

VS 1
At the completion of the Golden Gate, no the angels did not celebrate
And when the Wright boys flew their bird, no angelic shouts were heard.

CHORUS
There's only one thing that we're sure about that will make those angels jump and shout
It's when a sinner makes the Lord his choice -- that's when the angels rejoice.

VS2
Now when the light bulb first lit up the town, no the angels did not dance around
And when the man stepped on the moon they didn’t sing a victory tune.
CHORUS
There's only one thing that we're sure about that will make those angels jump and shout
It's when a sinner makes the Lord his choice -- that's when the angels rejoice.

BRIDGE
Now heaven doesn't strike up a band for any old occasion at hand.
It's gotta be a special thing to make those angels sing.
VS 3
Now when the Model T first hit the street, it didn’t bring all heaven to it's feet
And when the first computer was born, they didn't blow Gabriel's horn.

CHORUS
There's only one thing that we're sure about that will make those angels jump and shout
It's when a sinner makes the Lord His choice -- that's when the angels rejoice.
BRIDGE 2
When the United States became a nation, there was no angelic celebration
But when one lost sinner comes back home, they jump for joy around the throne.
CHORUS
There's only one thing that we're sure about that will make those angels jump and shout
It's when a sinner makes the Lord his choice -- that's when the angels rejoice.
TAG
That’s when the angels rejoice.
Rejoice.

The angels are rejoicing! We have had 2 salivations at our church this week, people calling up asking Q to come over, and lead their friends to the Lord!!!!

Directory Pictures

We want to do a new pictorial directory at our church, so I have been playing with an idea of where I want to take the pictures. I think I really like this. It is my Nana (pronounced Nonna) who is almost 12 now, acting as my model.
I am not totally certain I like the light from above highlighting her nose... any opinions on that?
She is just sitting in front of the baptistery. Cool huh?

I like that background.

I love my church!

I love my church, there are two wonderful ladies I sing with... We blend so well... Here is a picture of us singing on Sunday. Their names are Edie (on the left), Glenda (in the middle), and Me...
Oh BTW... I am not just giving the singers extra time. We use a CD. We need a piano player, or a guitar player... Know any willing to play for free?? Shoot me an email.

Liberty Day in Columbiana!

Sue (peach shirt below) and Larry (next pic) came and enjoyed the fun.

First joyous event of being the Senior pastor at Shelby Christian Fellowship... Putting up the little tent for Liberty day. We had a lot of fun!

We gave away over 300 bottles of water.

Tym and Ann got glow sticks, so they went into the sanctuary with the lights off, and played with the glow sticks. I need to look up my settings on this one, They were moving around, that is why you see the glow stick lines... but they appear frozen. I like this I need to figure out how I did it...
Frankie( <) says it is Billy's> fault, Billy(>) says
"Frankie did it!"

This is Edie's idea of hard work...

Believe or not, this is Dale working.

We are the champions my friend... (sorry I was singing.)

My husband and I were just voted in yesterday as the senior pastors at Shelby Christian Fellowship Assembly of God in Columbiana.

It is a small church, but a beautiful one. Here are some pictures I took.

This is inside the foyer, looking up at the chandelier.

I am such a symmetry loving person, I love this foyer... it is mirrored. If you walk in and look forward you see the double doors going in to the hall way in front of the sanctuary, that mirrors the front doors. If you look up, you see the chandelier. The cross you see in this pic, is above the doors going further in. If you were able to see the opposite wall, there is another cross in the sheet rock above the front doors. As you are standing in the foyer, to your right and left, are stairs leading up to the balcony, all perfectly symmetric. God has such a sense of humor, to build this church for us.

Here is a look back, from the hall at the front doors. See the pretty blue accent wall, and nice tile floor...

This is what the front doors look like with my children standing in them... lol

This is a view of the sanctuary, looking down from the balcony. I love the pretty little track lighting, there are sconces to match on the walls where the stairs are. The nifty thing, is the picture on the screen on the wall here is a picture of the church from the outside and I took it, and had just given it to them, after I photoshopped out some pesky power lines.

Then here from the sanctuary you can see the stairs on are on either side going up to the balcony. See the pretty detailing on the rails, It alternates between a patch of dogwood, and a cross. How pretty.

God is awesome to have blessed us with this. We hope to honor Him with this gift.

I should explain why I was singing "We are the Champions" When we mentioned that we were going to "try out" as pastors at this church, a pastor friend of ours made the comment, "Let the beauty Padget begin!" So on Sunday Juliannah said "Did Daddy win?"
