The Circle of Life...

Well It would appear that everything I read on the Internet about Robins eggs, or birds in general, was true... The baby bird eggs have hatched, and the birds are nowhere to be found. One egg was left, and still had yoke in it, so we must assume that bird never developed, whether because of our interference or not we will never know...
On a sad note, the baby horsey in the pictures from yesterday... died. Even the vet is not sure why... We had a cold snap last night, that could have gotten her.
Now on a more serious note, my mum in law's partner, Elaine is sick. They found a baseball size tumor on her kidney. Please Pray. We know God cares. This is her at Christmas... Vickie, don't tell Elaine I posted this pic... I had to sneak to take it. I am tooo young to die she will shoot me.

Isn't it cute? it is only 3 hours old... in this pic.
So amazing that horses can stand from birth.
Christeonnah was enjoying this, although, ever the girl, she wondered what she got on her hand...
Then she and Matt found the kittens in the hay bails...

This is dedicated to my Darling Niece... Suzannah.

See that precious little chin? She is such a sweet little niece... Well she found out the hard way that if you are on a scooter, and a large husky is pulling you, and the leash gets caught in the wheel, you will stop quick, and the pavement will think your chin tastes excellent.

I think she just went out and got Seven stitches so she could get in on the boo-boo blog.
Unfortunately for her she also caught me on a hyper photoshop day!!

It is finally time!!!!

Just click the picture above!
You can now Pre-order your very own copy of Microbursts! Here is just a teaser, the intro.

Microbursts!
Microburst: a sudden, short, powerful burst of wind. It is gone as quickly as it came, but you are never the same from its impact. A more official definition is a violent, short-lived, very intense localized burst of wind that blasts to the ground and fans out. When the air hits the ground, it speeds up even more and can generate winds up to 168 miles per hour. It usually results from a thunderstorm.
Microbursts have been known to do incredible wind-sheer damage. When they were first discovered, they were often mistaken for tornadoes because of the damage they left behind.
When I was thirty years old, my life was turned upside down, and it wasn’t all good. I had been married for almost ten years to a wonderful man and had four kids. My husband Quintin and I had been youth pastors for eight years, spending three of them working under the “Best Senior Pastors in the Whole World.” At least that’s what Pastor Greg told us on a regular basis. To be honest, he was right! He and his wife, Tammy, had become our best friends in those three short years.
Things were looking great... then it started. Our pastor and his wife resigned and announced they were moving to a different state. Then we resigned and moved to a different city. As if that wasn’t enough, my father-in-law, who had been living with us off and on since he was diagnosed with cancer, finally lost his fight, or won the war depending on how you want to look at it, either way, he died and went to Heaven.
My most crushing blow came after his death. I had been a stay-at-home mom for eight years, since the birth of my first child. When Poppie died, my youngest two children were only 3 & 2. I was nowhere near ready to go back to work. At the very least, I wanted to wait until my baby was in school! However, with Poppie’s death, we lost his disability income, and I had to get a job.
Through God’s wondrous favor, I found a job, and it was at this job where He started dropping revelations into my spirit, revelations so strong and impacting, I would often comment aloud, “Oh, that’s good, God!” Then I would think to myself, someone ought to write that down.
One day as I thought this, God said, “Yeah, why don’t you?”
So I said, “OK God, but what do I call them? The world is full of revelations.”
God replied, “Microbursts!”
“Microbursts?” I asked. “What is that?”
“A sudden burst of revelation that impacts you and inspires you to make a change.”
“OK,” I said, “you show them to me, and I’ll write them down.”
So, here they are... Microbursts!

Hurt finger up date...

Well, the good thing is it is looking much better. She has regained all movement in it, and we are praying she didn't permanently damage the nail bed. Keep praying please...

Totally unrelated, but this is Matt's first attempt at the folded paper people. I thought it was pretty awesome! Just like him.

Have you ever seen a Opossum play possum?

It is a pretty cool thing to see. There was a cat in our back yard, which Nana has dubbed Princess by the way, and it was Mewing at me, so I was going out to see what it wanted, and there in the grass next to it was a Opossum playing possum. It was crazy. I could tell it was alive, because as i was moving around it to take pictures of it, my shadow fell on it's eye and it kinda flinched. Sure enough, in about an hour we went out there and checked and it had moved... Weirdest thing I have ever seen. Of course I made Nana go get my camera... lol and as much as she begged me, and she did... I wouldn't let her pick it up. lol

Robin's Nest

I could be wrong, and please tell me if I am, I am ok with being wrong, but I think this is a Robin's nest. I had always heard that if you touched the nest or eggs, the momma bird would never return and the babies would die. I always thought that was kinda mean of the mama bird. According to what I Googled (everyone knows Google is second only to God) (YES I am joking, but they are usually pretty dependable) If you leave it alone, the bird will come back. Apparently birds don't have a very good since of smell most people thought the mom had abandoned it, because she will wait 8-10 hours to go back, not wanting someone or something to see where her nest is. Interesting huh? I thought so.
At any rate, the kids really got a kick out of getting to see the eggs.
P.S. We are working with the printers... Microbursts! should come out in the next two weeks!!! I am soooo excited!!!!!!! I am sure you couldn't tell.

The legend of the Dogwood tree

The Bible does not tell us what type of wood the cross Jesus was crucified on was made of. Roman history does not go into specifics as to how the crosses were made or what type of wood they were made of. As a result, we cannot know for sure what type of tree was used to make the cross. There is a legend that it was made of dogwood. This is unlikely considering the typical size of a dogwood tree. The legend of the dogwood tree, author unknown, is as follows:

In Jesus' time, the dogwood grew

To a stately size and a lovely hue.

'Twas strong & firm it's branches interwoven

For the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen.

Seeing the distress at this use of their wood

Christ made a promise which still holds good:

"Never again shall the dogwood grow

Large enough to be used so

Slender & twisted, it shall be

With blossoms like the cross for all to see.

As blood stains the petals marked in brown

The blossom's center wears a thorny crown.

All who see it will remember me

Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.

Cherished and protected this tree shall be

A reminder to all of my agony."

Again, this is just a "legend." It is a nice poem, but there is no Biblical basis to it. The legend of the dogwood tree is very likely not accurate.
This is not original to me, but the pictures are.
