What a Poppy Cock...

Tymothie was doing a video tour of our new house, and when he went by our Grandfather Clock he stopped, videoed it, and said this is the "Poppy Cock"... Because it was Poppy's Clock. Aww how cute... last visages of babyness. It reminded me of the story behind that clock so I thought I'd share it.

Three Glass Shelves

God is so awesome; He gives us things we don’t even need, just special things because He loves us so much.

Poppie worked at the same place for 30 years. They rewarded his faithfulness by giving him a six-foot tall grandfather clock with a curio cabinet in it. Inside the curio cabinet were three glass shelves.

When he passed away, he left this beautiful clock to us. So, of course, we treasured it, and when we decided to move from Alabama to Florida (a twelve-hour drive), we packed it and its three glass shelves very carefully into our rented moving truck.

The glass shelves were one of the last things I packed. I wasn’t sure how to best protect them. I was afraid that if I put them in a box that it could be thrown around causing them to break. Finally, at the last moment, I wrapped them in some foam sheets and placed them in a clothes basket in the back of the truck. I thought... We won’t open the truck again until we get to Florida; they will be fine.

To make a very long story shorter, five days, three trucks, two trans-loads (a trans- load is when you transfer the contents of one truck to another), and an empty gas tank later, we arrived in Florida.

Unfortunately, we had “help” with our first trans-load, and they weren’t very careful with our stuff. Someone grabbed the foam thinking it was just extra and tossed it. It shattered my shelves. I was so sad. I personally cleaned up all of the little pieces. Nevertheless, we did not lose our witness; we were nice. Through it all, the entire nightmare, we kept a good attitude.

When we finally got to Florida, God told us He would give us back everything we had lost. Within a month, we had gotten back the cost of the move in love offerings. The only thing we were still missing was our glass shelves.

When we got to the last box to unpack, Que reached in and pulled out something wrapped in foam, then he turned white as a ghost and yelled, “DaNella, you have got to come see this!”

When he un-wrapped it, we both had to sit down. Neither one of us had put them in a box, and both of us had picked up the tiny glass pieces; yet, there in the box, wrapped in foam, God had placed, for us, three glass shelves.

Keep in mind that the LORD your God is the only God. He is a faithful God, who keeps his promise and is merciful to thousands of generations of those who love him and obey his commands.

I am not certain I can do this... lol My photo files are so big I am not sure 10 will upload... But hey looks like it did. This is a cool meme, just some much needed fun in this political week. Take the first photo from your first file and post it, then the second from your second... and so on to 10. no cheating , and no photoshoping... But you can explain what the pictures are.
This first one was just a foggy morning... I love the spider webs on the bushes...This is Tymothie blowing up a balloon at a family reunion.

Close up of moss... I love my camera

The Chandelier and cross in the foyer of our church...

wow... I am speachless

wow...I am sad, scared, and yet comforted that even if Obama is president, GOD is still in control. Will you join me to pray for Obama? We need to pray for God to lead him. Rest assured God is still in control.

Psalms 46:10 Let go of your concerns! Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth.

So this little picture will be my final complaint about the man... The rest I will never post, I will merely lift them in prayer.

Here is a little political humor...

Sorry I think Obama has a little potty mouth, he says he is gonna kick McCain's a.. so, Suz and Reb don't watch this unless your mom and dad say you can...

The Big House

Not much to say. Today is a good day but a busy one. The place we are living now is soooooooooo small. I call it the Shrimp Shack. So my point was it is so small when we moved in we had to store my dining room hutch in my mom's garage. We were finally able to get it out today! We took it over to the new house.
lol I call the new house "The Big House". lol

Ok so am I the only crazy one who names houses?

The Ultimate Day By Day Planner

The Ultimate Day By Day Planner

The other day we were working on the deck at the new house. Since I have been married to Q for almost 15 years now, I know him. I know his trends. I watched him, and picked up a pattern he was going by to build the deck, putting in spacer nails, and screwing down the deck boards. After a little while it got to where I was handing him things before he even asked for them. He looked at me and said “Wow you are good you know what I need even before I ask for it. "

Of course that reminded me of our Gracious God. He knows what we have need of even before we ask for it. Have you ever stopped to think about it when those little miracles happen? For you the check appeared in the mail just in time, for God, He prompted the person to send the check a week ago, to get it to you on time. God is so awesome how he plans in advance.

Matthew 6:8 b Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Christmas Time's A Coming!

I collect nativities. I love to show my children the true meaning of Christmas. I have about 20. Every year at Christmas time, I put away all of my nick-knacks, and replace them with nativities. I have long wanted one that was a true toy, so my kids could play with it instead of just looking at them. I finally have it! Here is a picture of it I took earlier today.
I took it out of it's package and set it up, took a picture, then packed it in a box to move... lol
There was a method to my madness, I also bought one to sell on ebay, so I wanted to take a picture of one for the auction.

All in the family.

Sam is really fitting in. She is even getting family heirlooms... lol This pink rain coat was my grandmothers. Mom gave it to me, but I just never wore it, and well it is for shall we say someone more vertically challenged. It fits Sam perfect... lol

When we move, in her room, her bed will be one we inherited from Mama Dunk. and she will have a cabinet we inherited from Granny Jones...

It's all in the family.

Failure Is NOT an Option.

David Livingstone is quoted as saying... "I determined never to stop until I had come to the end and achieved my purpose." Sometimes we have to be determined to fight. No matter what, like I told a friend today, look at satan and say "I refuse to kill myself, so if you want me, you have to come in and get me... and If it kills me, hey I'll go to heaven."

Here is a good article.. I actually found it while searching for an old poster my daddy gave me a copy of when I was younger. He was "in"couraging (word I created) me not to give up. So I encourage you... Don't EVER give up!
