Sarah Palin

Disclaimer... for my readers who are democrat... I am sorry, you don't have to agree, you just have to love me...

Go McCain! I think he made an AWESOME! choice for a VP. Sarah sealed my vote. I love the fact that she is a mother of five, and a crack shot with a rifle. She is pro-life, and for the sanctity of marriage, and yet still sees the need to defend people from hate crimes. I totally LOVE the fact that she knew her son would be born with down-syndrome, and had him anyway.

I don't watch ABC's "The Practice", too much sleeping around, but as I was waiting for the news and looking out for weather alerts on "Faye", I saw the end of last Thursday's episode. A lady had been diagnosed with a genetically inherited disease, that she had a 50% chance of passing to her child. When asked about it, they said that yes they wanted kids, yes they knew the child could get the disease, but if children with that disease were never born, the husband would have never met and fell in love with his wife. I totally loved that.

Soooo... How was your day?

I'm so glad you asked! I woke up and it was all foggy. Then I had to turn around three times on the way to school, I saw a gazillion spiderwebs, I had my seat stolen twice... (in both of my classes), I got something on my light khaki carpi's, my digital recorder's battery died. Oh, and I spilled a can of peas. Over all it was a WONDERFUL DAY!!! Cause I got some awesome pics!!!
A little patch of heaven.

Microbursts!

This one is for you Etta. I'm praying for you!

Submarines & Satan
Have you ever felt like you are in a situation where you had so much going on that if another thing happened you would simply explode? I remember such a time in my life. It seemed that all that could go wrong had:
o My father-in-law had to undergo some intensive cancer treatment, much of which took me and two young children an hour one way to Tampa at least once every two weeks.
o A teenager in our church was having problems with her parents, so we had just agreed to allow her to live with us on a trial basis.
o We had my husband and I, my father-in-law, a rebellious teen, a two year old, and a one year old under one roof. That mix alone was thick.
o My husband got sick with strep throat, and we had no insurance.
o The stress was causing me to skip my normal cycles and to be nauseous a lot of the time, causing me to think I might be pregnant, and giving me panic attacks.
o As if that weren’t enough, my two year old little boy jumped off some bleachers and broke his left femur. It is supposed to be the hardest bone to break. He had to be put into a full body cast.
I told you all of that just to say that seven years later I survived it all.
o Happily, Poppie survived and lived relatively healthily for five more years.
o God delivered me from panic attacks.
o The teen successfully reunited with her parents.
o Matt recovered fully, without even a limp.
o I survived!
The pressure around me was great, but the God within me was/is greater.
So, what does satan have in common with Submarines? They both use pressure. Satan tries to crush us, much as the ocean tries to crush the submarine. Check this out; it is the pressure inside the submarine that keeps it from crushing. If we have Jesus on the inside, He provides us with the pressure, or strength not to implode.

The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Todd Bentley - Moral Failure (that means he had an affair...)

Hmmmm Why am I not surprised? Here is a link to the article in the Lakeland Ledger, the local paper for Lakeland Fl. I am sorry, but it just seemed like a bunch of hog wash... (I mean the revival) I grew up in Pentecostal churches, I have seen warts disappear, and ladies shout their hair down, dancing before the Lord. Unfortunately our children have never seen it. We need to get back to Pentecost.

Good Morning Lord!

Photobucket

I woke up this morning to this sunrise... It reminded me of an old song;

"Good Morning Dear Lord! What exciting new things are instore for me today? Problems? Oh I know there'll be problems. But I am sure we can solve them, just the Lord and me!"

Oh and thank you to Aaron over at Iron Sharpens Iron gave me a shout out today on what he calls his braggin wagon! He said and I quote...
"If it makes her curious you're going to see it!" talking about the pictures on my blog. Then he almost made me cry with this small review of my book Microbursts!

"She has written a devotional book published by 'Lion & Lamb Publications' called "Microbursts!- Devotions with a Unique Look into the Power of God in Everyday Life". The title says it all because she takes stuff in everyday life and sees God in it. It is a book well worth $14.95+ s/h. You will laugh, cry, and be touched by God when you read it. You can apply most of it in your life and see God where you missed Him before."

Thank you Aaron!

Praise Is What I do!!! 2

Here are the lyrics I try to live my life by. It is called Praise is what I do.

Praise is what I do
When I want to be close to you
I lift my hands in praise
Praise is who I am
I will praise him while I can
I'll bless, him at, all times
And I vow to praise you
Through the good and the bad
I'll praise you
Whether happy or sad
I'll praise you
In all that I go through
Because praise is what I do
Cause I owe it all to you

[2nd Verse]
Praise is what I do
Even when I'm going through
I've learned to worship you
I know my circumstance
They don't even stand a chance
My praise out weights the bad
And I vow to praise you
Through the good and the bad
I'll praise you
Whether happy or sad
I'll praise you
In all that I go through
Because praise is what I do
Cause I owe it all to you

Praise is what I do--
Is what I do

Praise Is What I do!!!

INCREDIBLE TESTIMONY! I got this testimony from my friend Deanna's blog. This just touched me sooooo much, to think he had reached the point that he was gonna end it all with a box cutter. Jesus cares! Here, read.
There's a man in our church who has attended almost three months. Less than three months ago he was in our parking lot trying to kill himself with a pair of box cutters when Rob, our outreach director found him, stopped him from committing suicide and led Him to Jesus. What has unfolded in his life is just miraculous...

In less than three months this precious man has come off the streets. (He was homeless and living out of his car and previous to his conversion had simply lost hope.) These past few months He has been transformed by the power of God. Rob discipling him has also been key in his transformation. He gave a testimony about 2 weeks after beginning to attend church that he had started showering daily. This sounds like an odd testimony, but understand that prior to giving His life to the Lord, he wasn't even showering once a month! Not only does he shower, but he's an extremely sharp man. He cleans up well! (SMILE) He has also been reunited with his 8 year old son who lives in another state, and Rob helped him to find a room to rent at a transition house. Shortly thereafter, Rob also helped him get a construction job, building a new local hospital. He's been working the job about a month and a half. He started paying child support again after being a "delinquent dad" for these past years. He sits on the second row of church each service and soaks it in. But that's not all... He's started ministering already! The past month he's been working in our homeless ministry, helping people who are like he used to be just less than three months ago. This past Saturday, they had him give his testimony! But that's not all...

He has heard me get up each week and passionately ask the people to give scholarships so that women in ministry who are financially challenged and couldn't otherwise come to Unstoppable will have a way to come and be refreshed, and in many cases, restored. Although he was just getting on his feet, he came to me and said, "I'm going to sponsor one of those women!" I was shocked. There are people in our church who have a hundred times the resources this man has who probably think they can't afford to sponsor somebody. But here he was, a new Christian - fired up, and ready to respond to the call. He said, "I can't give it to you all at once, I'll have to do it in several payments, since I'm just starting to get paid..." And each week, for the past four weeks, he's given something until last week, he gave the final amount to fully sponsor a woman. Amazing! Well, the story doesn't end there...

Last night he testified at church that his boss called him in a few days ago and told him that they have chosen him for a scholarship for a college apprenticeship program. In addition they gave him a raise! He will continue working his construction job during the day, but they are FULLY PAYING for him to go to college at night!!! They are PAYING FOR THIS MAN'S EDUCATION!!! He said to Pastor Trinity and I last night, "I thought it was kind of ironic that I just paid the last payment on that Unstoppable scholarship last Wednesday night and the Lord opened that door for a scholarship for my own education a few days later."

GIVE A SHOUT NOW!
Pretty moon last night... Just a bonus Picture...

Directory Pictures

We want to do a new pictorial directory at our church, so I have been playing with an idea of where I want to take the pictures. I think I really like this. It is my Nana (pronounced Nonna) who is almost 12 now, acting as my model.
I am not totally certain I like the light from above highlighting her nose... any opinions on that?
She is just sitting in front of the baptistery. Cool huh?

I like that background.

Hi yall, Want to take a Journey?

As I have mentioned before, I am not much of one to recommend a movie... But "Journey to the Center of the Earth" is AWESOME!!! Totally.

However, it is best in 3-D totally cool.

The only halfway questionable things were;

1. The thirteen year old tries to call "dibs" on the mountain guide.
2. At one point, the boy says "We are in deep schist" (a type of rock formation)
3. There are parts that are "intense" a little scary for young kids.

I totally recommend it. I have seen it twice, once in 3-D and once not. It was better in 3-D.

What did I do?

I don't know, I mowed the lawn for 5 minutes... 5 minutes. When I stopped, my left hand was twice the size of my right... No fun. After a few hours, the swelling went down, but it was kinda scary. Mainly weird.

Me in Highschool

This one is for Deanna. She asked what we wished we still had... well aside from that body, those cheek bones, and only one chin... I miss big hair! I was good at it. Oh and if any of you wonder, this is my natural hair color... yeah.

Snow Day!

Photobucket<

New Signature...

Is it too hard to read? What do ya think?

Hmm, Little Miss Muffet, a Spider and a Peach Cake?

Well, sometimes you just gotta fit the story to the pictures... This is just Juliannah. She is just a little princess all the time, so she has to find creative ways to express it. At first I thought she looked like little red robin hood, but well the next picture sorta decided on calling her Miss Muffet.

What you see here is a HUGE spider. What you don't see, is that I am inside while he is outside, and on top of that, I am 4 feet away using my wonderful macro lens... Ah I love my camera. It's name is Serendipity. Yes my camera has a name. It means finding fortunate discoveries by accident. My camera helps me make discoveries all the time. I love my camera.
As for the final part of the title, Sam made a wonderful peach cake yesterday. She used a can of peaches instead of water, in the mix, so it was very very moist, and then mixed a can of peaches with some confectioner sugar to make a topping. Was DELISH!!!

I got an award!

See my pretty award! Thank you Sharon for nominating me.

What is the meaning of the expression: Arte y Pico
Basically, ironically, it translates into a wonderful phrase in Mexico, “lo maximo.” LOL! It will never find its counterpart in English, but if it HAD to, it would be something like, Wow. The Best Art. Over the top. Here are the rules:
Congratulations!
Now go forth and share the love!
POST THE FOLLOWING ALONG WITH YOUR SELECTIONS:
The official instructions follow:
1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award, creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogger community, no matter of language.
2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3) Each award-winner, has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y pico" blog , so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5) To show these rules on each one. Post the rules!
Publicado por Eseya, Muñecas con historia

My "Picks" of those deserving of this award.
1)Aaron at Iron Sharpens Iron. When he finally kicks himself in the butt and blogs, it is good. Kick yourself more often buddy.
2)Chilly Chiton the Insomniac. I just recently started reading his blog. I think the name attracted me, The Insomnia Chronicals, but then when I later realized what his name was Chilly Chilton, I grew up in Chilton County Al, and graduated from Chilton County High School. He's cool, check him out.
3) Andi. Still one of my faves, she just never takes enough time to blog!!!! But when she does it blesses my heart... Andi at How can I keep from singing Your praise? blog I really enjoyed the last one about how much she loves her hubby. She is a friend of mine from bible college, and Blogging lets up keep up with each other some. Oh and she loves to redact me...
4)Shiela over at Faith, Family and Friends. She keeps it real. Real relatable, (if that is even a word) I can relate with what she blogs about, being a mom, and a house wife, and a christian. I really enjoy seeing a glimpse into her life.
5) Andriea at From the Pit to the Palace. She is my BFF so I am a little biased. She is new, and doesn't blog often, but when she does, it is good.
Oh, and a few honorable mentions... I would have given Sharon one but she is the one who gave it to me, and I would have given Deanna one, but Sharon beat me to it.
lol God bless and many happy awards to come.

How much does a prayer weigh?

SPECIAL GROCERY LIST

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can."

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.

The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?"

Louise replied, "Yes sir."

"O.K" he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it."

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:"Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.Louise thanked him and left the store.

The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said;"It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs."

This was an email I got today, just thought you might enjoy it!
